What Tennis Star Maria Sharapova Thinks About Right Before She Serves

You might not be able to hang out with tennis star Maria Sharapova, but if you attend this year's US Open you can get pretty close to that, thanks to technology.

American Express is creating the experience that's going to let you play with Maria's virtual version through the new HTC Vive, a device that immerses you into the game by bringing you to the tennis court. The headset is a virtual reality kit that lets you interact with the environment around you in a similar way to the Oculus Rift.

According to Future Sport, Maria spent several hours in a virtual reality studio where she went through body scanning, motion capture, CGI and other similar technologies to create the final product that people will experience at the US Open.
