Who wore what this weekend: VMA after-parties and more

Updated

As Tuesday marks the first day of September and thus the end of summer as we know it, stars spent the weekend sporting summer's hottest trends for one final hurrah. From the MTV Video Music Awards (and after-parties!) in Los Angeles to a fun GNO in NYC, celebrities were spotted rocking prints, jumpsuits, two-piece sets, denim-on-denim, and crop tops.

Perhaps the biggest look of the weekend, though, was fringe dresses. As fringe was one of the hottest summer trends this season, it seems fitting that celebs worked the look one last time on the VMA red carpet. From Cara Delevingne's Saint Laurent frock to Ciara's Alexandre Vauthier Couture gettup, the fringe-clad celebs all looked chic and fabulous. Serayah especially wowed in white in a stunning Herve Legger fringe number.

We also loved Rihanna's flirty, fun and floral baby doll dress as she stepped out for a girls' night in NYC. The singer rocked summer's beloved floral print trend and broke out her brightest colors for the occasion. It also seems fitting that the frock is an original Jeremy Scott design, as Scott won the weekend with his re-created VMA Moon Man.
