CLEVELAND– More than 60 years after she disappeared, we may be closer than ever to finding out what happened to 10-year-old Beverly Potts, and solving the case may hinge on a mysterious phone call.

Retired Cleveland Police Captain Richard McIntosh, who is now with Crime Stoppers, said they received information earlier this month that may shed new light on this case.

"We received an intriguing tip at Crime Stoppers that generated some interest," McIntosh said.

Potts was last seen at the playground of Halloran Park near West 117th Street and Linnet Avenue in Cleveland on Aug. 24, 1951.

Crime Stoppers is asking the person who called earlier this month to call back because more information is needed.

There is a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment of the person responsible for kidnapping Potts. Tips can remain anonymous, and anyone with information should call 216-252-7463 or go to the Crime Stoppers website.
