Waitress receives rude note on receipt and no tip
It seems like everyday, there's a new story popping up about an unhappy diner who scribbles something rude onto their receipt, or simply pens an empty "0" on the tip line.
For 20-year-old Rutgers University student Jess Jones, the money she made during her summer job waitressing went towards her college tuition, so those tips meant a lot to her.
On August 17th, Jones was serving a party of eight on a busy night at D'Jais Bar & Grill. After the $112.03 bill was paid for by credit card and the party had left, Jones noticed that her customers left her no tip. Instead, the just the letters "LOL" was written on the tip line of the receipt, next to the words, "1 hour for food."
Jones posted the note on Facebook, and the rude receipt immediately went viral:
Last night, I was stunned by this receipt that was left for me by a party of eight people. I would have preferred a "$0"...

The receipt even got attention from New Jersey Mayor, Matt Doherty, who took to his Facebook page to share his opinion: "If you visit Belmar please treat the hardworking men and women in our service industry with the same respect you would expect at your job. This is ridiculous."
