Photos of Los Angeles police officers helping a teen with his tie go viral

Police in Los Angeles deal with many major incidents, but they're also there to help citizens with the smaller problems in life.

Recently, two officers helped a nervous teenager make sure his tie looked good for high school orientation.

They were pulled over by the boy's mother, who was frantically trying to get him ready.The officers said they were happy to provide assistance, and one of them noted, "We're here to help the community we serve. Sometimes people are just scared to ask."

It's possible that going to the police for such assistance is becoming a nationwide trend.

In late July, an officer in New Jersey came to the aid of a young man also having tie problems.
