Mom searches for mystery child who played with her 18-month-old disabled son

Last week, Katie Myers, a mom in West Palm Beach, Florida, witnessed a beautiful moment between a young stranger and her 18-month-old son, Kaden. The young boy was playing with her wheelchair-bound son while the family was visiting a local science center.

As a 7-month-old, Kaden was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), which progressively weakens his muscles over time and causes him to be in a wheelchair.

Myers told ABC News, "I would love to thank him." She said:

She also went on to say that she wants the child's parents to know that "they have an amazing child" and that he's "engaging and treating everyone the same."

In an effort to find the young boy, Myers snapped a photo of the beautiful moment and posted it on Kaden's community Facebook page, where over 225,000 people "liked the post."

Myers hopes that this picture will spread awareness about SMA and inspire people to help find a cure.
