Remembering Hurricane Katrina: 10th anniversary photo submissions

AOL.COM is commemorating the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and its impact on people and towns across the Southeast, from New Orleans to Bolixi, and more.

We will feature the personal stories of lives impacted through pictures of the items people fought to salvage and save. Today, we are inviting you to share those stories of your loss.

Today, AOL.com is putting a call-out to users and inviting them to share the stories of their loss.

Please submit picture of items you saved from Katrina's destruction for a feature on AOL.com about the legacy of Hurricane Katrina for stories marking the 10th anniversary of the storm.

Email your photo and a short, informational caption to 10thanniversarysubmissions@teamaol.com.

Submission period will close at 10AM EST on August 28th.

Suggested photo guidelines:

  • Clear image, shows what the item is

  • Taken on a digital camera or with a high-resolution cellphone camera

  • Meaningful subject matter

  • Send full-size image if possible
