In today's society, LGBT rights have come a long way. But, as singing sensation Sam Smith points out, we still have a long way to go.

The singer took to Instagram to point out the kind of hateful and homophobic people that still exist in our society. Smith says that these kind of things don't bother him, but he wanted to call attention to it regardless. There is still this pervasive issue of homophobia still present, even in 2015.

Smith, who does not especially flaunt his sexuality in the media, still has fans that listen to his music having no idea of his sexuality.
