This app just added one more reason to go to class. Free food.

Since many students often spend their time in class checking Facebook, Twitter, Tinder and whatever other website that keeps them from paying attention to the lesson, some campuses rolled out an app called Pocket Points.

The app gives students discount points to use at a variety of on-campus eating locations, depending on how long they avoid taking their phones out during class.

Once you start the app, it uses your phone's geolocation technology to make sure you are actually in class and it starts measuring the time spent away from your phone from the moment you lock it.
