Meth lab found in Taco Bell
We've definitely heard of meth labs in strange places before, but a Taco Bell restaurant may be a first.
Two men were arrested on Tuesday after police found remnants of a meth lab inside of a Taco Bell in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The police were initially called to the closed Taco Bell location at 4:42 a.m. after a "suspicious person" was reported. The officers discovered 2 people outside, one of whom was a Taco Bell employee.
Christopher Adam Matous, 31, and Kent Jerome Duby, 56, were charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth. Matous was also charged with several chemical possession charges.
The Taco Bell corporation was obviously shocked and released this statement yesterday:
"Both we and our franchisee find this completely unacceptable...Although the suspicious items found in the restaurant were not used in the kitchen, the employee has been terminated and our franchisee is considering pressing criminal charges."
The Cedar Rapids Taco Bell will reopen after the investigation is complete and the restaurant is sanitized.
