New aircraft concept gets you from New York to London in 1 hour

Thanks to a recently filed patent by Airbus, pretty soon, you may be able to travel from New York to London in one hour.

The "ultra-rapid" plane travels at speeds that are four and a half times the speed of sound. Now that's crazy. Trips that go half way around the world could be completed in about three hours.

The concept involved turbojets and a rocket engine. Specifically, the rocket engine would kick in after the turbojets, propelling the machine to supersonic speeds. Then, hydrogen-powered, wing-mounted ramjets would take over the process.
