Overland Park man uses free time to help neighbors mow their yards
OVERLAND Park, Kan. — A young man in Overland Park uses his days off work to help his neighbors mow their lawns.
Neighbors say the heat doesn't stop Kellen Murray from being generous and helping others who need the assistance.
"He did two lawns in one day," neighbor Nicole Ferree said. "Last week he helped the foreclosure house and went over and finish the neighbor's next door house, and it was hot."
Ferree is the one who nominated Murray for the FOX4 Pay It Forward award.
"I wanted to pay it forward to you because I think what you're doing is fantastic and a bigger deal than when you make it seem to be," Ferree said. "So I want to pay forward for your kindheartedness."
Ferree helped present Murray with $300 for his kindness.
"I think it's a good positive message to show hey there are still good people out here that have good values and are still good neighbors," Ferree said.
