Man orders $550 worth of pizza for strangers

Daniel Sobey-Harker -- a 27-year-old from London -- felt the urge to buy pizza for someone in America after he had consumed a few drinks at a work event.

The marketing officer turned to Reddit's Random Acts of Pizza board to search for lucky free pizza recipients, asking, "Can someone help me (UK) buy a pizza for someone in the US? I'll reward whoever can get me a method that works."

Responses came pouring in with proposed solutions, but Sobey-Harker was faced with a problem when it came time to pay for the pizza.

Since Papa John's online ordering doesn't allow for transatlantic pizza delivery, Sobey-Harker resorted to purchasing two digital coins from Bitcoin -- costing him a grand total of $550.

After the purchase, he stayed up until 4AM spending the digital money on pizza for 30 strangers. The best part is that Daniel did it all over again the next night in an effort to spend the remainder of his digital money.

This isn't the first time we've seen pizza in the UK news. See the video below for another hilarious UK pizza story:

More than 60 of Italy's best pizza-makers worked through the night to create a 1.59545 kilometers, or nearly a mile long pizza at Milan's world fair. Their toil was rewarded with a proclamation by Guinness World Records judge Saturday that it was the world's longest pizza. Expo organizers said the record-setting pie, made with 1.5 tons of mozzarella and 2 tons of tomato sauce, weighed some 5 tons in all. (Daniele Mascolo/ANSA via AP)
