Jose Canseco supports Caitlyn Jenner

Former baseball slugger Jose Canseco plans to show his support of Caitlyn Jenner's decision to come out as transgender by swapping his cleats for high heels... for one week.

"In the very beginning, I didn't understand it, so I was kind of like, against it," the 51-year-old told New York Daily News after TMZ broke the story. "Once I watched it more and more, and realized what it really entailed, what he (sic) was going through, I started supporting him (sic)."

Canseco may have the politically correct pronouns wrong, but his heart seems to be in the right place.

The former New York Yankee will wear a dress, make-up, heels, and all for an entire week for his upcoming internet show "Spend A Day With Jose." Despite doing all of this for his own show, he says he's taking the whole thing seriously.

Canseco is no stranger to making headlines -- his 2005 book "Juiced" gave light to baseball's steroid culture, and this past October he shot off his finger while cleaning his gun.
