Shawn Mendes & Hailee Steinfeld combine for 'Stitches' acoustic take: Watch
Shawn Mendes has fashioned a Hot 100 hit out of his Handwritten highlight "Stitches," and for a new acoustic version of the track, he called in his pal Hailee Steinfeld, most recently of Pitch Perfect 2 fame. Check out the charming acoustic performance below:
The stripped-down version of the track allows Steinfeld to reintroduce herself to music fans before her first solo single, "Love Myself," is released on Aug. 7 via Republic Records. Her music debut follows multiple film roles, including an Oscar-nominated turn in 2010's True Grit.
Meanwhile, "Stitches" has become a radio crossover for Mendes, reaching a new peak at No. 54 on this week's Hot 100 chart. His debut album, Handwritten, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in April.
