Crocodile spotted strolling down Manhattan street
NEW YORK, Ny. (Pix11) -- Upper Manhattan residents got a toothy visitor Thursday when a crocodile was spotted casually walking down the street.
"So this alligator was crossing 9th Avenue in Inwood . . . no, really," police at the 34th Precinct tweeted.
So this alligator was crossing 9th Ave in #Inwood...no, really. At 205 Str. Cops took him to Animal Control #whatnextpic.twitter.com/EG5Z3bkQPl

There was apparently a little confusion over whether it was a crocodile or alligator, but that was apparently cleared up with the help of a Twitter user.
.@lizzieohreally Oh, ok. Then it makes much more sense that he'd be on 9th. That's more of a crocodile hangout than an alligator spot...thx

NYPD officers caught up to the croc at 205th Street and took it into custody, turning the animal over to Animal Care & Control.
