We've all fallen for a few of the old beauty wives tales ... It's time to debunk them!

First up: Brushing hair constantly will help make it silky smooth. Nope! Stylists say it can actually can cause breakage, and weaken hair follicles. So put down that brush!

Two: Crossing your legs causes varicose veins! Not exactly. According to the American Heart Association, varicose veins are mainly caused by Extra weight, and pregnancy which can add pressure to your circulatory system- or standing which can cause your heart to pump more blood to veins in your legs.

Three: Oily skin doesn't need moisturizing. Not true. Dermatologists say all skin needs moisturize. Just try a cream that's oil free.

Four: If you don't wash your hair for a while it will clean itself. NO and ew!? Your hair gets greasy because it produces an oil called sebum, and while each produce a different amount ... NOT cleaning hair is not going to give you a gorgeous clean mane..

Five: Toothpaste is a miracle worker and zaps zits! No, and definitely not! Toothpastes contain ingredients which can irritate your skin. So stick with something made for your face, not your mouth.
