For the second year in a row, HBO's Game of Thrones led the Emmy nominations pack when the HBO fantasy drama based on the best-sellers by George R.R. Martin collected 24 mentions -; up from 17 a year ago.



American Horror Story came in second with 20 (up from a year ago when it came in third overall). Meanwhile, HBO continued to top all the networks thanks to Thrones and TV movies Olive Kitteridge and Bessie, picking up 126 nominations -; up from 99 a year ago. ABC came in second with 42 -; up from its fifth-place showing last year thanks in part to How to Get Away With Murder's Viola Davis and John Ridley limited series American Crime.
