Darth Vader makes appearance at grandmother's epic funeral

You don't normally think of funerals as being fun, but just as the video above celebrated the life of a Christmas-lover, one Halloween-lover's family took a similar approach.

Lorna Johnson -- a 56-year-old grandmother who passed away from cancer in Luton, England -- seriously left the world in style this week.

Her Halloween-themed memorial service was a beautiful depiction of her personality, with Darth Vader and Beetlejuice as surprise guests.

Her son Neil Johnson told The Guardian:

%shareLinks-quote="My mum's favourite time of year was Halloween. We always had parties, dressed up, decorated the house. The kids loved it, we loved it. It was something we always did." type="quote" author="Neil Johnson" authordesc="Lorna Johnson's son" isquoteoftheday="%

Johnson's family made sure to honor her by decking themselves out in costumes. They weren't the only ones who got into it, though. Even the funeral director participated in the costume chaos. In fact, he dressed as Darth Vader.

Her son mournfully looks back on his mother's life, but he explains, "She would have been well up for it; it's the type of person she was. She always wanted a party."
