50 Cent Opens Up to 'Conan' About Filing for Bankruptcy

50 Cent, the rapper and star in the upcoming movie "Southpaw," filed for bankruptcy on Monday. But according to his latest Instagram post, he seems to be doing just fine.

50 posted a picture of himself next to a Smart Car. The caption? "Times are hard out here." They sure are, 50. They sure are.

Wednesday night on "Conan," 50 said Southpaw co-star Jake Gyllenhaal was the one who snapped the photo when they passed the car in a nearly empty parking garage.

"I said, 'I should take a picture.' He took the picture," said 50 Cent on "Conan."

50 says his bankruptcy filing is just a reorganization of his finances. And he told Conan it can help him fight against people trying to take his hard-earned dough.

"You know, you got a bulls-eye pinned on your back. When you're successful and it's publicly noted, you become the ideal person for people to have lawsuits for," said 50 Cent.

That could be referring to a $5 million suit 50 Cent has been facing since 2010 from a woman who claims the rapper posted a sex tape of her without her consent.
But right now, 50 is just focusing on his new movie.

"Southpaw" premieres July 24.
