101-Year-Old Woman Rappels From England Tower

For some women age is just a number.

Take Doris Long for instance. At 85 she took up abseiling — or rappelling — and 16 years later she's STILL doing it. The 101-year-old recently beat her own record as the world's oldest abseiler, dropping down more than 300 feet (show tower) down the Spinnaker Tower in England.

Doris, who has a daughter, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, told the BBC she took on the challenge for charity, raising money for a hospice and she plans to do it AGAIN next year.

I'm 24 and I won't even go off the high dive if someone paid me to do it.

And there are other women putting me to shame. Shocking.

Evelyn Jones of Washington state celebrated her 108th birthday by being the oldest person to throw a ceremonial first pitch. This slugger stood near home plate at the Seattle Mariners game against the Los Angeles Angels and yes, she can probably throw better than me too.
