You ever look at a puppy and think, "Huh, that kind of looks like a bear." No? Well, one man got quite the surprise when he learned his precious pups weren't actually pups after all.

Yunnan resident Wang Kayui purchased two "puppies" from a Vietnamese man a few years ago. The "puppies" at the time were apparently the same color as any normal dog and seemed very well-behaved.

Nothing seemed too out of the ordinary, until of course a few years later when they decided to grow up and eat Kayui's chickens.

Luckily, Kayui came across a pamphlet about endangered species that really opened his eyes, because the fact that they grew to be full-sized bears apparently wasn't enough. He came to learn that his two adorable "puppies" were in fact Asian black bears.

Luckily, Kayui handed over his pets to the Forest Public Security Bureau and they made a proper home at Yunnan Wild Animal Rescue Center. Spokesperson for the animal rescue center, Feng Lingui, told the Daily Mail that the two bears are both doing well at their new home.

Needless to say, things could have turned out much worse, so thank goodness for that pamphlet!
