'The Bachelorette': Kaitlyn tells Shawn she slept with Nick, Shawn loses his cool

The secret was finally out on Monday's episode of The Bachelorette, as Kaitlyn came clean to Shawn about her passionate night with Nick. And if you're wondering who enjoyed the episode more, this is all you need to know: Shawn spent part of his time locked in a bathroom, while Nick was seen eating ham shirtless. Enough said.

The episode began with Ben H. nabbing the first one-on-one in Ireland (we're really getting the detailed tour of Ireland), where Kaitlyn proved she is truly the worst at hide-and-seek. Ben told her he feared he was unlovable after his last break-up, so Kaitlyn decided to raise his spirits the way that anyone would: by telling him he seems like a virgin. Guys really can't hear that enough.

The group date card promised that the guys will "run a-muck," with Jared proudly filling the other guys in on the definition of "amok." ("Nailed it," Jared presumably was saying to himself.) On the date, Kaitlyn told Nick that things went too fast between them. Then, Joe told Kaitlyn he's in love with her. "When you tell me you're in love with me, it makes me realize we're not on the same page right now," Kaitlyn replied, proving that she excels at understatement. "No worries, man," he replied, apparently channeling The Dude, before eventually storming out and telling her he's "not saying shit."

None of the guys got the date rose, but Shawn got a present of a different variety when Kaitlyn decided to tell him that she and Nick "went too far" and had sex. Shawn headed to the men's room to regroup, where he was heard telling himself: "I'm so tense right now, I cant even piss." Granted, Shawn's bathroom gaffe wasn't quite on par with Robert Durst's on The Jinx, but it was up there. Shawn then returned to Kaitlyn to tell her he's upset but thinks their relationship is worth the effort. Plus, catheters aren't that bad.

At the rose ceremony, Shawn got the first rose but told Kaitlyn he still needed to talk. He explained that he didn't understand her interest in He Who Shall Not Be Named, and Kaitlyn responded by taking back his title of "The One." Well-played, Kaitlyn. Finally, Shawn returned to the ceremony to accept the rose, with Jared tearfully getting sent packing.

Nick received the first one-on-one date, which took place in the always-romantic setting of a jail. (Did Shawn somehow get to plan this date?) They then head to the real fantasy suite, where Nick is shown the next morning eating Canadian bacon with his shirt off because why wouldn't he be? The two appeared to be clicking, even if Kaitlyn clearly cared far more than Nick did about a dog they apparently met named Mr. Higgins.

Finally, the episode ended with Shawn confronting Nick by calling him an "asshole" and saying he wouldn't lose any sleep if Kaitlyn picked him. Shawn told Nick he wasn't surprised that Nick was hated by 40 guys from the past two seasons, to which Nick basically replied, "Forty? It was definitely no more than 36 - 38 tops." And then the episode ended with "to be continued," because that's all ABC knows how to end things this season.
