Remember Poh's story? Poh the dog was a very lucky pup that got to travel across the country after his owner learned he only had a few days to live. Heartbreaking and wonderful, right? Grab some tissues, because this next story is just as touching.

Nicole Elliot and her family stumbled across a Facebook posting from local animal shelter, Animal Park Rescue and wanted to take action. The post featured Chester, a dog dying of cancer, and the family was determined to give him the best few weeks of his life.

According to Buzzfeed News, the Georgia family felt compelled to help after reading the post for Chester. With a title like "hospice needed," Elliot just wanted to make Chester's remaining last days as fun and amazing as possible.

After a few suggestions from some friends, Elliot decided to document Chester's journey through Instagram. Elliot told Buzzfeed News "I was so nervous, but happy to help spread awareness about dogs like Chester. I hope through all of this attention that it shines a positive light on shelter animals with terminal illnesses or [who are] up in age."

Once on social media, Chester's story quickly became viral and currently has a Facebook page with more than 24,000 likes and an Instagram profile of over 3,000 followers.

Chester loving life with his new little sis!

Nothing says pure bliss like a Nathan's hot dog.

AND a sundae!

Chester and his new fam took a trip to the park.

And he has clearly had no problem making friends.

Chester is clearly in good hands with Elliot and her family. She told Buzzfeed News that the experience has been nothing but "incredibly rewarding," and "Chester has returned the love tenfold!"

Hopefully Chester's last few days a bit sweeter and happier now! And remember, there are many dogs just like Chester in shelters. If you are looking for a pup, adopt, don't shop!
