By Variety:

Stephen Colbert is bringing satire back to its homegrown roots.

The satirist, who ended his run as host of "The Colbert Report" and will begin "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" in September, traveled to Monroe, Michigan, to host "Only in Monroe," a local public access cable show. The comedian interviewed rapper Eminem and explores the town's history.

"Since my last show ended in December, I've been itching to host a talk show again but my new theater's not ready yet, so I decided to head over to Monroe, Michigan, look around, and give it a Michigander," Colbert said, pausing to water a fake plant.

The interview with Eminem, who's real name is Marshall Mathers, begins at 22:00 in the clip.

"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will air on Sept. 8 on CBS.
