EXCLUSIVE: Nick Gordon assembles high-powered legal team, featuring Casey Anthony's lawyer

Bobbi Kristina Brown's boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is currently assembling a very well-known legal team, ET has learned.

Soruces close to Gordon's legal team tell ET that Atlanta criminal defense attorney Joe Habachy, Gordon's lead lawyer, is preparing to bring in famous attorney Jose Baez --- who's best-known for serving as the lead defense attorney for Casey Anthony. Anthony was found not guilty of the first degree murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony, in 2011.

Another person being brought onto the team is TJ Ward, who among other investigations, has worked on the investigation for the family of Natalee Holloway, an American teenager who disappeared in Aruba while on a high school graduation trip in 2005.

Gordon, 25, is currently facing a civil lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina's conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, alleging that he physically abused the only daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, and stole thousands of dollars from her. The lawsuit also claims that Bobbi Kristina set up a meeting with an unnamed person on Jan. 31 to discuss that Gordon was "not the man she thought he was," and was later found unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31, "face down, with her mouth swollen and another tooth knocked out."

While no criminal charges have been filed, ET recently talked to former LA prosecutor Michael Kraut, who weighed in on possible charges Gordon could face, given the serious claims against him in the lawsuit.

"[The District's Attorney] will have to make a decision whether this was a homicide, a domestic violence or non-criminal," Kraut explained. "Nick clearly doesn't have $10 million. The lawsuit was filed to get information in order to provide the police and district attorney about what happened on that day."
