Sorry fellas, but chances are you're guilty of manspreading -- the term for men who decide to spread their legs wide open while sitting on public transportation, taking up at least two seats.

It has evolved to much more than just a hassle for other passengers who are left standing. Nowadays, it's illegal. Yes, people have actually been arrested on the premise of getting more than their fair share of seats, with police cracking down on those who are inconveniencing other riders.

It's not just officers and other riders who have taken issue with manspreading, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority also got involved, spending over $76,000 to create a unique ad campaign warning riders against the behavior.



So guys, beware. If the police and MTA officials don't end up confronting you during your morning commute, you can be sure your fellow passengers will take to Twitter and Instagram to publicly shame you. Don't just take our word for it, see the reactions below:
