Sure, of course you can buy Kevin Durant's used straw
By JOHN DORN
We've seen Andre Aagasi's pony tail, Boston Red Sox's beards, even Ty Cobb's teeth. But the newest addition to the bizarre sports memorabilia marketplace is a used straw.
The piece of plastic Kevin Durant used to suck down a slushie in a recent Sonic commercial is up for auction, with proceeds going to a charity that helps provide school supplies to public school teachers.
Durant's actual drink and the candy inside it are up for auction as well -- if DNA-ridden plastic tubes aren't up your alley. All items are enclosed in glass casing and come with a certificate of authenticity, directly from Sonic.
At time of writing, the straw is approaching $500 on Sonic's eBay auction page after 41 bids. An autographed cup appears for $760 and a block of assorted candies is sitting at $550.
Showing off your glass-encased used KD straw might not be the best way to introduce yourself to housemates, but hey, it's hard to knock the cause.
