TV Land's 'Younger' Renewed for Second Season

"Younger," the freshman TV Land comedy series that was recently renewed for a second season, scored the largest in-season growth for an original series in the network's history, TV Land announced Wednesday.

Among the network's key demographic of adults 25-54, the series rose 82 percent from premiere to finale, according to Nielsen's Live Plus 3-Day rating measurement, and 135 percent among women 25-54 also using L3 numbers.

The show also scored triple-digit gains versus the network's prime time average with women 25-54, up 135 percent; women 18-49, up 162 percent; and women 18-34, up 180 percent.

"Younger" has also been streamed 4.6 million times on Hulu since March, while the pilot episode is the most watched VOD title in TV Land history.

The series stars Tony award-winner Sutton Foster as Liza, a 40-year-old woman trying to reinvent her career and love life by posing as 26 year old.

"Younger" is executive produced and created for television by Darren Star, whose previous credits include"Sex and the City," "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Melrose Place."

In addition to Foster, the show stars Hilary Duff ("Lizzie McGuire"), Debi Mazar ("Entourage"), Miriam Shor ("GCB") and Nico Tortorella ("The Following").

The second season of "Younger" is slated to premiere in January.
