Ava DuVernay confronts man for grabbing her hair: 'Don't touch anyone uninvited'
Ava DuVernay recently had an unpleasant encounter when trying to board a train.
The Selma director tweeted Saturday that she missed her ride because she confronted a stranger who had touched her hair.
"Missed train dealing w/ a man who touched my hair + when I asked what in all the hells he thought he was doing, [he] replied, 'Is this racial?' " DuVernay tweeted.
She wrote that other women came over to support her, which led the man to yell at them all. According to DuVernay, the train station's police then got involved.
"Now, he's having charges pressed by another lady for harassment," DuVernay continued. "Moral: DON'T TOUCH anyone uninvited. ESPECIALLY not this black woman's hair."
DuVernay later thanked her Twitter followers for their positive messages, writing that she is "more than fine" after the incident.
