Benedict Cumberbatch welcomes first child with Sophie Hunter

Benedict and his wife, Sophie Hunter, welcomed their first child.

"Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son," the actor's representative reportedly told People in a statement.

The rep continued in the statement: "We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks."

The couple wed on Valentine's Day on the Isle of Wight in England and gave birth to their son four short months following the nuptials and a week before Father's Day.
