Transgender model Andreja Pejic's 'Make Up For Ever' campaign revealed
Long before the rumors of MAC's possible interest in Caitlyn Jenner (and then the company's denial of that rumor, followed by its announcement of an Ellie Goulding collab), Andreja Pejic revealed to Vogue that she was set to be the new face of Make Up For Ever. Finally, the model's debut with the cosmetics company is here.
Now that a video announcing the "Be Bold. Be Unexpected. Be You" campaign has been revealed via both Pejic's and the beauty brand's social media channels, Pejic is officially the first female transgender model ever to get a makeup contract. Actress Jamie Chung is also featured in the print ads, which will debut at Sephora July 16.
Pejic, who has also walked runways for Giles and Jean Paul Gaultier, told WWD, "It's a dream to have a cosmetics contract as my first major campaign as a female model, and that it is with Make Up For Ever, a brand that stands for helping people feel confident in expressing themselves, is beyond words." The Australian model added, "Makeup helps me express myself, and I've used it in varying ways throughout my life."
"Andreja epitomizes beauty and personal strength and is committed to living the life she wants," Make Up For Ever U.S. general manager Laure de Metz told WWD. "She has made some incredibly bold decisions in her life and we celebrate her commitment to be true to herself."
