The buzz for "Ghostbusters" seemingly has not ceased since it first premiered June 8th, 1984. The supernatural comedy with possessed marshmallows, an insanely catchy theme song and iconic exterminator outfits that resurrect every Halloween just like the dead has been a cornerstone of American culture for over 30 years.

The movie was a bonafide hit and won not only in the box office, but also snagged major awards including Best Original Song.

Last year, "Ghostbusters" made its way back into the headlines when Sony announced that director Paul Fieg was spearheading an all-female reboot of the classic film. The film starts production this summer with a release date eyed for July 2016. It already seems like a blockbuster with its winning cast of comediennes including Kristin Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy.

Then months later, the movie was the topic of conversation again when Sony announced an all-male reboot is also in works. Channing Tatum is the rumored star of this new movie. Many were infuriated and viewed this plan as a back up if the female version failed.
