Apple will finally acknowledge menstruation

Updated

When the Apple HealthKit was launched last fall, there was one glaring omission from the expansive array of body metrics one could track — it didn't include a way for women to track their menstrual cycles. Good news! Apple has heard the demand for a fully comprehensive HealthKit that doesn't exclude half of the population: The iOS 9 version will include a period tracker that charts both frequency and flow, reports the Verge.

This Apple event was truly a "triumph for gender equality," first for letting two women take the stage; and second, because from now on, male Apple developers will have to discuss things like "flow."
