Jennifer Lopez returns to TV for 'Shades of Blue,' her hard-nosed cop drama
Move over Sgt.Olivia Benson, Jenny from the block is joining the police force.
The singer and American Idol judge is returning to acting in NBC's 'Shades of Blue,' where she'll star as Detective Harlee Santos.
Her character is a crooked cop whose moral compass is constantly being torn between right and wrong. As a single mother, her daughter is the only thing that keeps her grounded on the job.
Co-stars Ray Liotta and Sons of Anarchy's Drea de Matteo also deal with the duality of their morality, adding that there are a lot of "grey areas."
Lopez is not only starring in the series, she is also producing alongside Ryan Seacrest.
