Legendary actor Morgan Freeman celebrates his 78th birthday today, June 1st.

Freeman is undoubtedly one of the most beloved Hollywood actors of the 21st century, starring in iconic films including Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption, Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven and Batman Begins.

His success story is a testament to the patience required to achieve success. After working as a cast member in countless plays and television shows, Freeman didn't find great fame until later in his career as a 50-year-old in "Street Smart."

Despite his enormous success, Freeman shows no signs of slowing down. He was recently quoted defending the legalization of marijuana and continues to host acclaimed TV series "Through the Wormhole."
