Memorial Day Family Outdoor Adventure Vacations to Take with Kids

It's been a long winter, and the kids are itching to get outside this Memorial Day, And let's face it, so are the adults!

Here are some ideas for great outdoor adventure vacations that are perfect for the whole family. Did you love tree houses when you were a kid? Treehouse resorts like the Out-n-About Treesort in Oregon, InTreeHouses in Tennessee, or Cedar Treek Treehouse in Washington let you stay high above nature, and you don't have come down before dinner time.

A hike in a national park is a great way to get kids' natural energy out. Parents will love the history mixed in to the guided tours, and of course, you can't beat the view. And the best part is many national parks are free for kids under 15.

Take the kids rafting or fishing. Many states' departments of conservation post lists of boat launches and fishing spots, or you can try one of many commercial rafting trips. And if your family really loves the water, try a swimming and snorkeling vacation in the Florida Keys or Catalina Island, California.

And if you've got a passport, Belize and Mexico offer both blue waters and stunning Mayan ruins.I've got my scuba gear ready, my hiking boots, and a compass... Anyone got some kids I can borrow for vacation?
