America's Oldest Nurse Celebrates 90th Birthday

Some of us can't imagine staying at our jobs for more than 10 years. But some of us aren't Florence "Seesee" Rigney, who has been with Tacoma General Hospital for almost 70 years.

But her work accolades don't end there. Seesee's recently celebrated 90th birthday makes her the oldest practicing nurse in America. And her team gave her the sweetest surprise party yet.

In the latest video uploaded from her birthday bash, Rigney's colleagues adorned the 90 year-old with a token pink sash and glittery crown. A special letter from Washington Governor, Jay Inslee was read to the woman of the hour with the politician saying, "Happy birthday, Seesee. Your story is an inspiration to me and all Washingtonians".

Seesee, whose birthday marks a huge milestone in her professional career, acknowledges that being a nurse was something she always dreamed of.

"Since I was a little girl, it was something that I always wanted to do."

We think it's safe to say that Florence Rigney's childhood dreams definitely came true.
