The Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the biggest nights in fashion. Stars flock from far and wide (literally -- it amazes us how quickly most of Hollywood gets to NYC!) to attend the opening of the MET's annual fashion exhibit, hosted by Anna Wintour and Vogue.

Over the years, themes for the evening have ranged from "La Belle Epoque" to "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy," and we can't wait for this year's "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology." Whether the stars are completely embracing the themes or simply doing their best to stand out, the dresses we see on the red carpet never cease to amaze.
