What Firefighters See When They Run Into a Fire

There's a reason firefighters are considered heroes -- but have you ever wondered what that looks like from their perspective? Thanks to amazing helmet cam video from the Sacramento Fire Department we now know.

This dramatic video is from a single-alarm fire in southern Sacramento, California. According to the department's Facebook page, the blaze was extinguished before it could spread to other homes, and no one was injured.

It's just one of two recently added helmet-cam videos from the Sacramento Fire Department.

One posted a day earlier shows firefighters saving a Victorian home in downtown Sacramento from a three-alarm fire that reportedly had engulfed three floors and the basement. Terrifying.

Those aren't the only first-person firefighting videos we've seen recently.

Last summer, the Stockton, California, fire department posted a seven-minute first-person video showing the department fighting a fire that engulfed a hotel.

If you're interested in more firefighting videos, the Sacramento Fire Department has an extensive collection on its Facebook page.
