Christie Brinkley's supermodel looks suffered a bit of bruising recently during her vacation to Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos, where the 61-year-old ageless star got a black eye trying to save a bird. The animal lover posted Instagram pictures of her at the hospital on Monday, rocking a pretty painful-looking black eye.
"We interrupt this holiday to take a little unplanned excursion to Miami for cat scans and stitches following an accident trying to save a bird," she explained. "My grateful heartfelt thanks go out to our wonderful Parrot Cay Family who got me to the boat and plane, and my friends in Miami who found my A Team at University of Miami Hospital led by Dr Askari and his professional caring and adorable team and to my bestie @artminster who spent her much needed and deserved holiday by my bedside .. I can't possibly thank you enough and I offer you a pain check .. I mean rain check! Lol!"

But despite the unplanned bump in the radio, Christie and her daughter, 29-year-old singer Alexa Ray Joel, are still obviously having a great time on vacay together. Christie posted this bikini pic of Alexa also on Monday, calling her her "Little Moonbeam."
"I may be CONCHED out lol, but My Little Moonbeam Alexa Ray glows in the Sunshine!" she wrote next to Alexa striking a model-like pose.
