There's a reason "springtime in Paris" is often said with a wistful sigh. Think blossoming European gardens and humming sidewalk cafes. Plus, this year prices are way down, making it an especially good time to plan a trip.

10. Cape Town
No spring fever here -- in April Cape Town ushers in autumn, though the weather is still nice at the city's beaches. If you want to tack on a safari at Kruger National Park, it's a good chance to view the baby animals that were born over the winter.

11. Seville
Feria de abril de Sevilla, or Seville's April Fair, turns the Andalusian city into a colorful blur of flamenco dresses, parades and bullfights. Come ready to stay up late and party.
