Ne-Yo says he's in the same camp as Taylor Swift when it comes to love songs

When it comes to matters of the heart, Ne-Yo is a bit of an expert.

The 35-year-old R&B crooner, who has pumped out hits like "Let me Love You" and "Miss Independent" joked in a recent interview with AOL that his love for love is a big reason he's made so many successes.

"I am a person that loves hard and fast – meaning that I am a person that falls in love real, real quick. I take every emotion to the 25th power and sometimes it does not work out the way that I would like it to – but it always makes for damn good songs," Ne-Yo dished. "Absolutely...Taylor Swift is in that group with me."

He's got a point.

The superstar released his sixth studio album "Non-Fiction" earlier this year and it has been holding strong with "She Knows" and "Time of Our Lives" landing within the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The songs for his new album, which he wrote partly inspired by his own experiences and partly from crowd-sourced material from fans about their romantic endeavors, is almost a love story in itself.

"I just wanted to find a way to say thank you to my fans. This is album number six and year 10 in the music business for me. With the climate of music right now, if you get past one song -- you're lucky. If you get past one album -- you're loved. If you get past two albums someone in heaven really likes you," he explained. "For me to get past six albums, with 10 years under my belt, other than God – the only other person to thank are my fans. The fans decide whether I get to be here or not and I wanted to find a really unique way to say thank you."

His fans recently got another way to be a part of his music with a new campaign he launched with McDonald's where he crowd-sourced stories to create a new single about – you guessed it -- lovin!

On March 24, Ne-Yo, will debut his new single "Every Day With Love" at a free concert in Los Angeles in partnership with the imlovinit24 campaign, celebrating 24 moments of joy around the world in 24 hours.

"I wanted to do something a bit more universal for this single. This song is basically talking about love for your fellow man, period. Love for your neighbor. Love for your people. Love for yourself," Ne-Yo shared. "By learning how to love yourself, you can learn how to love another person."
