SMU looked like they weren't going to be able to get a win against SMU in the round of 64, when a 19-0 win put the Ponies in the driver's seat. UCLA needed a big shot at the end of the game to win and UCLA's Bryce Alford was content to throw up a shot.

Alford had been hitting shots from down town all day and was likely full of confidence, but this one seemed like it was going to come up short and be an air ball.

SMU's Yanick Moreira jumped up to grab the ball, thinking he was collecting an airball. The issue being that the ball hadn't fallen enough yet and the officials called him for goaltending, giving UCLA the points they needed to win and advance to the next round.
