Melissa Gorga: Teresa Giudice is 'doing well' in prison

Updated

On Sunday night's episode of "Watch What Happens Live," "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Melissa Gorga gave us a much-needed update on her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice's life behind bars.

"She's doing well. She's doing well. You know, my mother-in-law gives me updates all the time, she's doing really good," said Melissa Gorga on "Watch What Happens Live."

"Have you had any contact with her?" asked Andy Cohen.

"Um, I have written to her, yes. And she's spoken to her brother on the phone, so yeah," said Melissa.

Of course, Teresa has been serving a 15-month prison sentence since Jan. 5 after both she and her husband Joe were found guilty of mail, wire and tax fraud.

Joe is scheduled to spend 41 months behind bars once Teresa is released. And Melissa told Andy Cohen she often sees him driving his four daughters to school.

She says she's proud of Joe for "manning up and doing what he has to do," but the whole situation is really weighing "heavy on his heart."

Melissa also dispelled widely reported rumors that Teresa has been making enemies in prison and will be writing a book about her experience behind bars.

Well, it's probably for the best she isn't penning a book. But that doesn't mean we can't hope for a real-life offshoot of "Orange Is The New Black" starring Teresa, now does it?
