Waiter Gets $25,000 Tip for a New Set of Teeth

For a lot of servers in the restaurant business a 20-percent tip is a good one. A $25,000 tip? Now, that's a reason to smile!Brian Maixner, a waiter at the Doo-Dah Diner in Wichita, Kansas was the lucky recipient of that incredible tip after he waited on attorney Fred Boettcher one day.

Boettcher noticed that Maixner had severe dental problems, and since he suffered from a similar issue as a child he offered to send his waiter to the dentist -- a tip that added up to about $25K. The attorney said he saw something special in Maixner.

A month after meeting his tooth fairy, Maixner is back at the Doo-Dah Diner with a great big grin.

It's not common, but some servers are just as lucky as Maixner. Last April, a New Jersey bartender got a thousand dollar tip from a patron to help pay for her dogs surgery. At the time she said she burst into tears seeing three zeros on the credit card receipt.

Around Christmastime, a waitress got a $1200 tip on a tab worth $128. The single mom told local reporters she was planning to splurge on her children with the unexpected gift.
