Kitchen hack: How to peel a potato with your hands in seconds
Could potatoes be the new eggs?
The Web went wild for the tutorial that explained how to peel a hard boiled egg in seconds, and now potatoes are getting the same speedy treatment. The speed-peel technique isn't new in the grand scheme of potatoes -- this woman says that the technique can save you one month of your life -- but it may be new to you. And besides, we could all use a little refresher course in Kitchen Hacks 101.
All you need is a pot of boiling water, ice water, some gloves (unless you're feeling dangerous) and of course potatoes.
First, simply pop the potatoes in the boiling water. After the potatoes have softened (usually 15-20 minutes), move them to the ice water bath for 5-10 seconds. Once you take the potatoes out of the ice water, the skin should peel off incredibly fast.
Voila! Still hot and ready to serve.
