Broadcast error labels President Obama as a rape suspect

Updated

An unfortunate graphics error during a live news program accidentally labeled the President of the United States as a rape suspect.

During a Friday broadcast, FOX affiliate KSWB covered a story about a rape suspect in the San Diego area, but instead showing the suspect, they showed President Barack Obama.

An assignment editor told the Times of San Diego, "Yeah, there was an accident when they had an over-the-shoulder [view during the broadcast.] It wasn't on purpose."

However, the decision not to run a correction has some viewers scratching their heads. The station's assignment editor said they don't run corrections on small errors of these kinds, but liberal blog Daily Kos called out the FOX affiliate, denouncing the refusal to apologize as slanted coverage.

The blogger writes that the station has broadcast a number of biased reports against the President in the past.
