It's no secret that dogs are capable of extraordinary things -- we've seen heroic dogs, a dog who taught a baby to jump and an impatient dog who rode the bus alone. But we were totally blown away by a video that came out of California last week.

Jordy, a chocolate lab, was captured diving 12 feet under the water's surface to retrieve an item at the bottom of Smith River in Hiouchi, Calif.



"He taught himself how to dive down deeper and deeper to get rocks. This as deep of water he's ever been in and went straight to the bottom," the poster Bryce Lund, who is presumably Jordy's owner, wrote in the description of the original video.

Lund has also posted videos and photos of his talented pooch on Instagram.
