LAPD Not Happy With YouTube Prank Against Officers

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- A YouTube video shows a group of pranksters in an SUV making an apparently startling admission to LAPD officers who were questioning them at Venice Beach.

"I can't do this. We have a bunch of Coke in the back," blurted out one of the jokesters. "I'm sorry."

The officers handcuffed the foursome while searching the trunk of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of ... several cans of Coca-Cola.

The incident ended with the pranksters shaking hands with the officers before being sent on their way.

It was unclear when the video was recorded. The production company NelkFilmz published the footage Monday online.

"Remember that it is against the law to make a false report," the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart Division said Wednesdayon Twitter. "The time taken to respond to this takes away from calls where there's an actual need for police resources."
